The historical and beautiful town of Dubrovnik is quickly becoming more and more popular, with great beaches facing the Adriatic Sea. Game of Thrones fans may recognise it as King’s Landing, with its stunning medieval architecture, churches and palaces, it makes the ideal setting for the hit show.
To see the city properly, take a walk along the medieval wall that surrounds the old town. You’ll be able to appreciate beautiful views of the orange-topped buildings and the crystal waters of the Adriatic. Outside the walls you’ll find elegant gardens and fruit trees.
One of the best ways to spend an afternoon in Dubrovnik is sea kayaking. Tours leave regularly for a trip around Lokrum island, with stops for swimming and snorkelling in the nearby coves.

There’s no ‘strip’, instead you’ll find bars and clubs tucked away amongst the city’s walls, alleys and amazing natural settings like a cave or on a cliff where you can look out to sea.
One of the best ways to spend a night in Dubrovnik is with drinks in one of the squares, you’ll find plenty of bars with great cocktails and outdoor tables where you can people watch, relax and soak up the atmosphere of the city. From there, head to one of the more exclusive bars or clubs hidden away.
Drinks can be expensive in Dubrovnik, but they taste great and the setting alone makes them worth the price.
